If you need a large format printer, this could be pretty sweet. The only thing is consumables, unless Canon has changed how that works. That’s where Brother shines, as their inkjet printers cheerfully work using third-party cartridges. Plus, cartridges don’t dry out with only occasional use, at least if you keep their printers powered up. A built-in cleaning routine every few days, lasting only a minute or two, prevents that. Catches you off guard the first few times that happens, lol. It’s genius!

RE: Sears Tool Offers for $50 + 100% Back in SYW Points on Tools Orders of $50 and Sold by Searsposted in Expired Deals
@ctgolfer About the “More Available”–it’s almost everything/anything under the Tools section that is sold by Sears, and not just a few specially-priced tools at $50.
So it’s not just Craftsman tools, but other brands as well–as long they’re sold by Sears (not marketplace seller).
Tools can cost less than $50 too, if you buy multiple tools, it counts as long as your out-of-pocket cart total is at least $50 after applying any coupon and SYWR points. -

RE: Hitachi 1-Gallon Portable Electric Horizontal Air Compressor @ Lowes $37.25 Extreme YMMVposted in Expired Deals
Update: Don’t necessarily trust prices reported by Brickseek on this, i.e. 1% stores discounted (inventory count, maybe dunno).
I was just at a nearby Lowe’s that Brickseek reports has it priced $149. However, the yellow tag directly over the spot for these compressors clearly says $37.25.
I say “spot”, because of course they were none left… Moral: investigate if any are near you. -

RE: 100% SYWR points back on Roadhandler tires (over 12 mos) + $50 back on $50 @ Sears.composted in Expired Deals
@sportsfan64 Funny you should ask–I tried both browsers, and even cleared cookies. It’s too much to ask from Sears I know, but I’d expect an “insufficient quantity available” message or similar if they didn’t have the 4 that I ordered.
UPDATE: It appears that all tires have to be available for same day in-store pickup for an order to process (disregard that shipping-to-store biz that Sears shows, e.g. available by Sept 5, etc.). Sears left hand, meet Sears right hand.
-
RE: 100% SYWR points back on Roadhandler tires (over 12 mos) + $50 back on $50 @ Sears.composted in Expired Deals
@mistercheap Well I was feeling lucky and tried to order 4 tires for in-store installation, applying a $35-off-300 coupon and also using $25 in points. Everything looked hunky-dory in checkout, right down to the Review Order page, but hitting Place Order just returns me back to the pre-checkout cart.
Repeatable, and with never any error messages. Weird! Anybody else run into this?
Oh well, the 17-year old car they’re for might not make it to the end of the 12-mo SYWR points payout anyway…

RE: PSA, Another 46 Sears and Kmart stores announced to close in Novemberposted in Deal Discussion
@ukedog My local Sears store is not on a list (yet); however, there are lots of internal-looking inventory tally tags hung up on shelves and wall hooks where many remaining products are hanging out. You don’t have to be clairvoyant to see how this is all going to end!
Also, when dropping by to pick up online orders, I’ve noticed several times a UPS truck backed up to the loading area, with most activity being stacks of boxes being taken into the truck. I suspect many might be online orders being sent directly to customers, vs. shipments back to manufacturers or other vendors. I think this because my recent online orders of several items look to be coming from various Sears store addresses, vs. some central distribution point.
Sears self-liquidation at work!

RE: Iris Touch Screen Programmable Thermostat, CT-101-L (Z-Wave) $14.87 @ Lowes B&M - YMMVposted in Expired Deals
Update: Now Lowe’s has restored it to available for online ordering, and is reporting the reduced price (for those stores that have it reduced, for in-store pickup only).
So the Brickseek link should be fairly accurate–as much as Brickseek can be, of course!

-
RE: Iris Touch Screen Programmable Thermostat, CT-101-L (Z-Wave) $14.87 @ Lowes B&M - YMMVposted in Expired Deals
@ctgolfer Ya I posted it a day earlier in the Lowe’s YMMV thread here. But here’s the scoop: Lowe’s took it off the website for online ordering, plus adjusted the price up to $69.99 if returning by any other mechanism (Brickseek included). HOWEVER, it may still be available in-store for a much lower price, if you bother to look for it. Just today I saw them marked down in a local Lowe’s store near me, despite Brickseek reporting $69.99.
-
RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Threadposted in Hot Deals
Heads up. Something I noticed for the first time on the Sears website, is that items I’ve “saved for later” in my cart and then go back later to look at (or add back to my cart) often default to a “marketplace seller” instead of Sears. The last thing I want playing the SYWR points game!

RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Threadposted in Hot Deals
@my4mainecoons I don’t know about Sears wifi, but I’ve done it several times already just using a cellular connection (LTE) and their app, which by the way is pretty kludgy. As in it recognizes me as a SYWR user, but initially thinks I’m in Chicago or someplace trying to pick up my order. So I have to fumble around a bit to enter my zip code and select the actual Sears store I’m at. Then it’s clear sailing to see my order and ask for them to bring it to me. Which is almost embarrasing to have an employee walk out and hand me my $10.52 order that weighs 7 oz.
But hey, $10 is $10. Btw it usually takes 2-3 days for those $10 in points to show up in my SYW account.

Z-Wave based, made by Radio Thermostat, requires Iris hub or similar (according to reviews, works fine with Smartthings hub)
There’s quite a few Lowe’s stores that may have for this price or even less–e.g. $2.80 at the Epping NH storeHowever, I’m not seeing free shipping for units that cost less than what you can buy it from (on sale) at The Smartest House (here).

RE: Lowes YMMV forum for in-store dealsposted in YMMV
@itsfriday I also expect a change on the free shipping, especially if Lowe’s has anybody analyzing the profitability of sales that involve packing and shipping clearance items for free. Often heavy items too (e.g. hammers) costing only a couple of dollars. And not just economy shipping either, but FedEx two day–at least that’s how it’s worked out for me. Not a sustainable business model if applied on any appreciable scale!
Then again, Lowe’s is such a giant corporation now with so many stores (over 2,000 in the U.S. alone) that I suspect it has outgrown much of its management reach, and stuff like this is tolerable as long as walk-in business pays for it. However, if they are really committed about becoming an online retailer (with store pickup), they have some serious work remaining to improve: a)-online inventory accuracy, b)-store pickup staffing, c)-online order communications

RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Threadposted in Hot Deals
@mrvietnam Coupon SEARS5OFF50 gets you $5 off $50. So putting $50+ worth of clothes in your cart, then applying that coupon, reduces your out-of-pocket to $45 or so (in order to get that $45 back in points in 3 installments). You could apply existing SYWR points to the order too, say if your clothes order was well over $45 after the coupon, but just make sure that your out-of-pocket (before tax) is at least $45 if you want all those bonus points.
