RE: Sears - in store only - Get $10 off $10 coupon by text good 12/3 - 12/7posted in Expired Deals
@briarycliffs Thanks briarycliffs! That was an easy $10 in-store, and I’m ready to text back “STOP” if this turns out to be a nuisance.
Btw this seems much better than the SYWR $10 points offer for a sign-up with Lending Tree! I’m thinking that could get messy…

RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Threadposted in Hot Deals
@my4mainecoons Lol, what a tangled web these SYWR points offers turn out to be! Yes, I did the $10 purchase first, and then immediately spent those $10 in points (the 2-day expiration proved not to be a giant obstacle!)
As far as the $3 FreeCash thing, it shows “Expires 12/14/18”, with these additional details when I click for more:
FREECASH in points:
Limited-time offers we’ve created just for you. If your order qualifies for one, we’ll show it to you in cart. These offers expire within 1-14 days and are automatically applied first when you redeem Shop Your Way points on an order. While a FREECASH in points offer can be used with points, can’t be combined with Sears card offers, other FREECASH in points offer or certain coupons and promo codes. -
RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Threadposted in Hot Deals
@lo Thanks Lo, I did that $10 points on Sears store-pickup deal, got the points immediately upon pickup, then spent them the same day.
Today with the new $30 points back on $30 purchase (already discussed here), I noticed this added bit when clicking on CASHBACK points:Get an instant $3 FREECASH in points when making a Sears or Kmart purchase and redeem any amount of your current points

RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Threadposted in Hot Deals
@lo Most interesting parenthetical remarks I’ve read in some time! I’ve stayed away from the Sears Marketplace points-back deals, but wondered if anybody has been taking regular advantage of them. I will say that SYW Customer Service has quickly fixed the few issues I’ve had over the years.
Ya gotta wonder though, with the inevitable demise looming, just how long you can expect stuff to keep happening as described.

RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Threadposted in Hot Deals
Anybody do the Sears “Cyber Monday” $25 points back deal more than once?
Did it yesterday, and wondered if I tried again today, if those bonus points showed on the checkout page (they did). Not pulling the trigger quite yet though.Usually if I’ve already done an offer that is “1 time per member”, the system “knows” and I don’t see those bonus points again.

Craftsman tools at Lowe's stores vs Craftsman tools still at Sears and Kmartposted in Deal Discussion
Anbody else notice the raft of Craftsman merchandise at Lowe’s stores recently?
Not just the tool carts/chests, but also lots of hand tools, all packaged in solid bright red.I’m guessing all the tools in “traditional” Craftsman packaging, mostly in red/black shading, will be orphaned and eventually clearanced out at Sears/Kmart…?

@briarycliffs Way to roll the dice briarycliffs!

RE: $10 off $100 WYB 2 Home Depot Gift Cards @Kroger thru Nov 26posted in Expired Deals
@kohlspowrshopper Only 2 days left for this deal.
Buy two $50 gift cards for $90. Plus you should get 4X fuel points on that $90 as well.
Unlike Lowe’s, seldom do you see discounted Home Depot gift cards. Also unlike Lowe’s, the “Special Buy of the Day” at Home Depot is often actually a good deal on something worthwhile!

Staples: NETGEAR Nighthawk AC2100 Smart WiFi Router (AC2100), $54.99 ($79.99 - $25 w/ coupon), Free Shipping
Supposedly $179.99 regular price, with $100 Black Friday discount, plus the weekly $25-off-$75 coupon they keep emailing me worked (surprisingly).
This might be a special Netgear model sold only by Staples–can’t find many reviews for it. However, my 2-year old AC1900 works great, and this seems worth it just to have for an “emergency backup” router.

@myisland said in 15% Back Sitewide Via Rebate For MyLowe's Members + FS @ Lowes.com Today Only:
Great day to combine this with discounts from gift cards, cashback sites, promo codes etc
If only Lowe’s online inventory system for picking up items at stores was accurate.
Otherwise, be careful using gift cards on such orders.
It usually takes a while to get Lowe’s to refund you on items that aren’t actually at the store.
I can only imagine how that scenario would gum up this rebate too. -

@briarycliffs Do you sell on eBay or elsewhere? You could always use points to buy something for resale.
It would be amazing if your Hometown Store did the deal since they’re an independently owned franchise and not a corporately owned store.eta: I got all of my 2nd installment SYWR pts

Don’t sell anywhere and I live in a rural area, no yard sales. I need to get rid of stuff, not add stuff. It’s a good problem to have, though.
Off topic, does anyone know how many Wild Wednesday games there are? I played at 7 am, then at 10 am. I don’t know if they are like 4 new games in a day or 1 every hour. A nickel here, a nickel there, adds up.
4 Wild Wednesday games per day, I’ve seen. Sometimes they’re good for $0.10 each.
I’m running with you on the adds-up thing. If you have a cell phone and install their “WIN IT!” app, you get additional chances for instant sweeps points. Several times I’ve hit payouts of 1,000 or 4,000 or even 5,000 points ($1, $4, $5) on “Bonus” or “Wild Wins” that way.
Sounds bizarre, I know–especially for a company going down the tubes! -

You’d think at the holidays they’d keep it reasonable.
Yeah, that can be a dealbreaker, especially if your local stores have shut down.
Fwiw, I noticed today that the shopyourway.com main page still says “FREE SHIPPING* Over $35”, but I didn’t follow up on that to see if that still works. -

Hey folks, just checking. If I use Freecash points as part ofpayment I don’t get the $25 back right? Just asking because I want to buy toys and I have this freecash coupon for toys, but if I use it I think this cashback is void?
Afaik, if on the Kmart or Sears checkout page they say “You get $nn.nn CASHBACK in points to use later”, you should get it. You have to read the terms carefully, as it might be awarded at a later date (as in this $25 cashback deal, where “Points credit to account on 12/4/18 and expire on 12/10/18.”).
I’m thinking as long as you’re out-of-pocket $25 (before tax), as well as after any coupons, freecash, etc. you should be ok. But this is Kmart, after all…

@ukedog Expired, sadly.
I’ve noticed Sears “Hot Buy” prices can rapidly change recently, whereas they used to be good for a whole day.
There had some mini-pliers on hot buy sale yesterday for $2.05 for a while, then shot back up to $12.48.Currently un-expired, that is at 12:47am EST it’s back to $7.40 for the folding metric nut driver set, and the mini-pliers are also $2.05 again.
No doubt they’ll both “cool off” again in a few minutes. -

Sears: Craftsman 6 pc. Folding Metric Nut Driver Set, $9.99 w/ Free store pickupposted in Expired Deals
Craftsman 6 pc. Folding Metric Nut Driver Set
$7.40$9.99, online only, with free store pickup(Normally reduced to as low as $9.99)
Set includes the following sizes: 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm, 12mm
Unlike a lot of recent new gimmicky Craftsman tools, this one can actually be useful.
Note you may need to tighten the 3mm hex head pivot screw to get the right amount of tension.
A drop of loctite on the two pivot screw threads wouldn’t be a bad addition either (I did it on mine).Too bad that Sears made this one the same (red) color as the corresponding SAE size one…
NOTE: Was a “Hot Buy” at $7.40 when I posted this. Then I go to test the link, and there it is at $9.99…!
Go figure. -

@thediggler I noticed that Sears has stopped being a seller for several different tool/tool supplies brand now, which over the last few years I’ve bought aplenty. Sigh. Oh well, my shop is pretty well stocked, at least for now…

@mistercheap Yeah, me too on the employees thing. They’ve been super helpful to me, especially in the Sears store online pickup department. Thanks largely to the SYWR points stuff, Sears and Kmart have provided me great deals on tools, household items, and even clothes/shoes over the last few years. I’m always baffled with gripes on SYWR.
Well I’m down to around $2 in SYWR points now, with some UPS shipping notices from Kmart orders just arriving…

@mrvietnam Dude. This may actually be happening, but I distinctly recall you warning about this over a year ago on FatWallet. And it’s been a crazy years worth of deals for me at Sears and Kmart since. Just sayin’
Also, it’s good to see this topic under Deal Discussion where it belongs. Imo it’s too bad it’s under the SYWR points topic in Hot Deals too.
Btw when Sears stores do the announced closing thing (as shown in the picture here), it’s pretty much all over for actual deals. Those people coming out of the store with bagged merchandise have been looking at picked-over stuff that’s been marked up well over normal retail, then “price slashed” to evoke some kind of hot deal effect.

RE: Craftsman 6" Bench Vise + $75.75 in SYW Points $75 + FS @ Searsposted in Expired Deals
@backsplatter I recommend you take a look at this 6" vise in person before ordering. I did a few months back, and was pretty disappointed. As in offset jaws, uneven closing, rough castings. Even though (in theory) it’s free, it would likely be a continual source of frustration.
Btw Sears does sell Yost vises, which are great in comparison. Even though much smaller, you’d likely get more satisfaction from the Yost BV-4 bench vise.
Too bad they just raised the price on that to $60–it was $47 just a few days ago. But if you added another $15.01 or more of tools to your order, you could get that “free” too, lol.
And yes, those Bessey vise jaws are the bomb for clamping soft items or tubes etc!
