I just got some more great Capital One offers. I got a spend $30, get $25 back for Best Buy and a spend $20, get $20 at Home Depot. I also got a spend $5, get $5 at both Chewy and Office Depot.

I am using their card and I am also using the link on the offer just in case I have to go through that link for it to track.
Since they charge for shipping with my type of membership, I plan to order online with curbside pick up and hopefully that will work. Curbside pick up is free.
I will update this post within 45 days and let you know if I got my cash back or not. It will come in the form of rewards to the credit card.

I see those capital one offers often but I never quite understood it so never used it. Do I have to use their card to pay to make it work or can use any other other cc? Thanks in advance!
I have never done a Capital One cashback offer either, but these offers are too good just to let go by. The way I understand it is you have to use the Capital One credit card the offer was attached to. I think within 45 days they will give you the cashback in rewards to the credit card you used.
I usually shop at Sam’s Club and eBay anyway, so I might as well use the Capital One card to see if I get the cashback eventually or not but if not, it’s no big loss as it would be money I would be spending there anyway.

I saw these offers on my Capital One Quicksilver credit card. I do not see an expiration date listed.
The Sam’s Club offer:
Merchant details
To earn the rebate you must make an eligible purchase at samsclub.com. Offer can only be used one time per customer. Rate subject to change. The spend requirement must be met in a single transaction, on non-excluded items, after discounts, store credits, and redemption dollars are applied, and before taxes, shipping costs, and fees are applied. Not eligible for fuel, tobacco, alcohol, pharmacy, grocery, paper goods, and gift cards. Membership required for purchases at Sam’s Club stores. Product exclusions apply regardless of delivery method, and are not eligible to earn rewards. To earn the rebate, you must be a Capital One cardholder or bank account holder, and logged in to your account on capitalone.com or the Capital One Mobile app.
How to receive the payout
We will attempt to issue the payout as rewards to your Quicksilver account ending in xxxx. Payouts are usually issued within 45 days of an eligible purchase but may take longer in some cases. Your account must be open and in good standing at the time we attempt to award the payout. In the event you have more than one account, we may apply the payout to any active credit card or bank account that is open and in good standing. This offer is valid for your use only and cannot be used to buy and resell goods or services to other persons or third parties.
What is a qualifying online purchase?
To make a qualifying online purchase, you must click the button below, and then complete a purchase at the selected merchant’s site, in the window opened by the Capital One Offers tile, within 24 hours. If an offer specifically lists an available coupon on this page, you may use it on the merchant’s site, subject to any coupon-related conditions that we display, but you must do so within 24 hours of activating the offer and during the same open browser session triggered by your offer activation. Use of any other coupons, cash back, or promotional websites after selecting an offer and before making a purchase will invalidate your offer. Use of VPNs and ad blockers may also invalidate your offer. Online purchases made on websites without first being redirected by a Capital One Offers tile are not qualifying online purchases.
How is the payout calculated?
The payout for qualifying online purchases is calculated using the subtotal amount of your eligible purchase, which is calculated after any eligible coupons are applied, and excludes taxes, shipping, credits, and other fees. A payout earned through this offer is in addition to any rewards regularly earned with your card. If you return or cancel an otherwise qualifying purchase, you are not eligible for a payout. Payouts for subscription services are only awarded to new customers in their first billing period after the merchant has confirmed your payment has processed. Payouts are not available on trial memberships, unless otherwise stated.

I just recycled a coin battery. No $2.99 charge but no credit either.
I am in Southern California and I just recycled my 6 ink cartridges and one AA alkaline battery and I got 3000 points, so I got 500 points for each of the cartridges but no points for my alkaline battery and they didn’t charge me any fee luckily. I wonder what the select states that are being hit with a recycling fee are.

I still have a huge box of free after rewards batteries I got at Office Depot over the last decade, so I won’t be buying batteries for years to come.
You should check them. I’ve had to throw out a lot of brand new batteries because of leakage.
Thanks. I do. If they leak you can call Duracell and they will mail you a coupon for free batteries.

I just read on the Staples subreddit, the $2.99 fee is waived if you purchase a battery at the same time.
The fee is waived if you purchase batteries in the same transaction. And you can price match (to Walmart, where they’re half the price).

This will be useful when they run their Free after Rewards Batteries deals, then bring in a bag of 200 old batteries. Better than paying for batteries to recycle old ones

Does anyone know of the items Staples will still recycle for free and you points back, besides monitors?

I recycled a computer yesterday and received the points. The cashier listed it as a monitor.
Interesting. Thank you for testing it out. I wonder what other tech items they will give points for, even without having an offer on the app. I will recycle ink cartridges later today and try to recycle a battery and see if they impose a $2.99 charge or not. If they impose a charge, then I won’t recycle the battery but if not, I will and I’ll see if I get any points. From what I’ve read the fee might only be in certain states and not everywhere.
It’s kind of funny that Staples will make changes like this and not even tell the customers beforehand and just let them get to the store and find out. Seems like pretty poor customer relations.

So it looks like pts for tech recycle is totally gone? I read the initial comments and recycled a battery yesterday, no pts since I already did it in April. Now the tech recycling offer is totally gone from the app offers. Assume recycling an old cable won’t even get the ‘other tech’ pts now either.
That is what I am thinking too. I think now the points for recycling program may be limited entirely to ink and toner cartridges recycling. I guess one could test it out by recycling something “other technology” and see if they get any points.

@my4mainecoons said in PSA: Coming attractions - Staples will charge $2.99 fee to recycle batteries per transaction starting Sunday, 5/3/26. Recycle your montly alkaline battery now to avoid the fee.:
@mrvietnam May 2. I checked yesterday.
So then I have no case. I just assumed the offers were monthly. I won’t waste my time calling then. I have about 100 used AA batteries I will be throwing away soon as I can’t get rewards points for them anymore.
It looks like the only thing you can tecycle at Staples going forward are ink cartridges. I say that because as of this morning I only see a recycling offer for ink cartridges.
I wouldn’t be surprised if later this year they get rid of the ink recycling also. I’m with Mistercheap. Nothing would surprise me at this point as they make changes and don’t tell the customer in advance, kind of make changes.with no prior notice to their customers. Good thing I don’t have a box of three or 400 cartridges that could become worthless if they have plane to scrap the recycling program.
