You missed the point: in America, overpaid, spoiled, and entitled executives are the “horses.” IMHO, I wouldn’t commit suicide over a company that was failing long before hiring me, especially when they were paying me so (comparatively) little. Pandemic era execs are quitting left and right. He probably could have found another, higher paying, gig in no time. I gave him the benefit of the doubt by not assuming that equines of any kind had anything to do with him jumping. He may have had other things going wrong in life that had nothing to do with his job. Don’t make baseless assumptions.

Titanium Dioxide is FDA approved for food, drugs and cosmetics. Not sure what this lawsuit is about other than the EU has banned it recently and now someone probably wants it banned here too.

Not to be crass, but don’t they think it’s a little late to tell people NOT to serve or eat fresh strawberries sold as far back as March 5th? Unless you froze them, these berries would have been long consumed by now, they wouldn’t stay fresh for one to two and a half months.

The FDA warning is for frozen (they suggest throwing them out).

I think it’s more of a heads up because Hepatitis A symptoms happen from 15 to 50 days out.

@ctujackbauer think you misunderstood my post. I said UNLESS you froze them, most people would have long ago consumed them. Didn’t say having froze them made them safe to eat.

Saul Goodman. I was agreeing with you - fresh strawberries would have expired, frozen strawberries the FDA is recommending to discard them.

Did the barcode scanner work? That’s usually the quickest way to be credited after missing points.

After submitting the receipt - scroll to the bottom and click on the oval button that says “correct receipt” (something similar) and that should bring up the opportunity to search for a product or use the barcode scanner. The barcode scanner usually works every time.

For future reference, in case anyone else runs into redemption problems.

actually bought this stuff not too long ago. got it pretty much free with IBOTTA credits back. Not bad, but not worth $2.50 for a pouch either. pretty tasty for free!

I had one experience with the cook in bag rice, Knorr’s flavored rice I believe. It had a metallic/medicinal taste. Never again, never again.

I got the Korean spicy flavored, wasn’t bad, but wouldn’t pay $2.50 either.

So just a heads up, if you haven’t already received spam from this breach you might be ok. I have seen quite a few show up in my spam folder the past few weeks.

Today’s spam even had gmail’s “-This message was sent from a trusted sender.” in the traditional gmail green highlighted typeface and lettering. Obviously everything else about it was fake (sender, insecure message warning from the sender, and random numbers in the email domains and email sender) so it got sent to the spam folder automatically, but be on the lookout.

I’m still peeved about T-Mobile leaking all of this anyway. If T-Mobile really had SSNs and drivers licenses all on display, geez…

Some notes based on personal experience:

Citi is NOT doing conversions from other cards (eg ThankYou Preferred) yet

Credit Inquiry hit is against Experian

Other forum reports that the offer in branches is $300 bonus after $1000 spend, which is the same offer for Citi employees

UPDATE
Other forums are reporting successful product conversion from ThankYou Preferred and Citi Dividend with no change to account number and conversion/transfer of existing rewards balance.

what’s amazing is, this is the app Shopmium sent its former users to as a ‘great replacement’. Luckily I did redeem an offer last month on CO51, not sure where I’m at towards $20 to cash out again, but it’s been, on average, taking a FULL YEAR to hit $20 to cash out which is a joke. Compare that to IBOTTA where I routinely have $20 each month to cash out. Not only that, the offers seem to get ‘depleted’ on CO51 far faster than any other coupon app I’ve ever used.

Really not too bad. I am already at the cash out threshold on my two family accounts, so why not add a few more cents to the check?

I hear you. I live in Orange County, too. I guess I am an optimist, but I think one day the virus will go away and life will go on as normal. It’s just no one knows exactly when that will be. The sooner the better though. I know I for one plan to get vaccinated the soonest I can. Maybe I will be in the front of the line since I am classified as an essential worker.

I agree with your thoughts. I, too, wish they were not so quick to throw in the towel. They could have done what you noted other buffets are doing to survive, but they didn’t even try. Disappointing to say the least. Thank you for the good, timely information. If you ever figure out the website to get the proof of claim paper, please post it.

One lesson I learned from this experience is not too buy restaurant gift cards in large amounts, especially from restaurants that are financially struggling. A long time ago Hometown Buffet was selling their gift cards for half-off when they were financially struggling. I bought a bunch and luckily I didn’t get burned and was able to use them all up. When a retail store goes under, you can almost always use their gift cards during their liquidation sale, but with restaurants since they don’t carry stock like a store does, no such luck. They just close and you are out your money in gift cards.

EDIT: Through Google searching I found where a copy of the Proof of Claim 410 form can be downloaded. It can be found here.

Evidently, my prior post about mall landlord buyout talks was more than likely something floated to the media by the credit-bidding lenders, because the mall landlords just reached a deal to buyout JCPenney.

Malls. We own the land. Now we own the stores, who are paying to use the land. But it may save multiple tens of thousands of jobs, so that’s fine by me.
